Join us for fun events that bring attention to and raise funds for a worthwhile cause.
The annual Rock-A-Thon is used to raise funds and bring attention to the cancer cause at Shelby County’s annual Bears of Blue River Festival. Teams are organized around cancer survivors and compete to see who can raise the most funds. These funds are then used to support those fighting against the disease.
I want to thank everyone who helped with the 2014 Bears of Blue River Rock-a-thon. Except for the weather, we had a great time. We had great Rockers and I want to thank all the participants. Be sure to practice this winter in your rockers and get ready for the 2015 challenge.
In September of 2012, the Shelby County Cancer Association organized the first of their Annual Cancer Bashes. This event has been held at the American Legion Post #70 on Miller Avenue in Shelbyville.
The event includes a hog roast, a live band, 50/50 drawing, a raffle, door prizes, a live auction, and a silent auction.
All proceeds again go to support the operations of the Cancer Society throughout the year.
